Incredibly good! Fantastic food (all vegan, fresh, tasty and home cooked, with loads of choice), pleasant setting, very friendly and welcoming staff and owner. Even the non-vegetarians / non-vegans in our group were raving about the food and came away very satisfied.If it had been open for dinner every night, we'd have been gone back again and again. Easily the best restaurant in Bansko in my view, especially if anyone in your group is vegetarian or vegan.

Steve is hosting with his big heart.The house is from 19th century and very cozy.Room was clean and breakfast was great with everything you need.I felt like at home, I'll come back there again for sure!

Our Christmas in Bansko was made memorable by Stephen at Le Retro Hostel. Friendly, helpful, will bend over backwards to make you comfortable. Couldn't recommend this place more. Comfortable rooms and bed. Vintage historic building that has been restored and followed it's original style. Food is delicious and drinks are very reasonably priced. Short walk to the gondola leading up the mountain. Thanks Stephen!

You may hear the word on the street that this little gem is the “best hostel in Bansko”, sometimes followed by the “best and second best omelette in Bansko” (Steve and Tim respectively). It’s 95% no joke, this place is the business. Tim often comes boarding with you and gives out free style points advice like Santa Clause lost in the Baltic’s. See you again soon! Churrr!
