We went out for dinner and had a great vegetarian meal - recommend the chilly which was awesome. Lovely decor and atmosphere and the host was excellent. The hostel is in a really picturesque and cultural part of the town, which adds character and interest.

Incredibly good! Fantastic food (all vegan, fresh, tasty and home cooked, with loads of choice), pleasant setting, very friendly and welcoming staff and owner. Even the non-vegetarians / non-vegans in our group were raving about the food and came away very satisfied.If it had been open for dinner every night, we'd have been gone back again and again. Easily the best restaurant in Bansko in my view, especially if anyone in your group is vegetarian or vegan.

Steve is hosting with his big heart.The house is from 19th century and very cozy.Room was clean and breakfast was great with everything you need.I felt like at home, I'll come back there again for sure!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Le Retro Hostel and Bar and couldn’t have had more warm and welcoming hosts. The rooms were comfortable and well well equipped, the location is perfect situated within the old town close to plenty of shops and restaurants and within walking distance of the gondola. Really couldn’t have asked for more and will definitely be staying again. Thank you Stephan and Tim!!

Our Christmas in Bansko was made memorable by Stephen at Le Retro Hostel. Friendly, helpful, will bend over backwards to make you comfortable. Couldn't recommend this place more. Comfortable rooms and bed. Vintage historic building that has been restored and followed it's original style. Food is delicious and drinks are very reasonably priced. Short walk to the gondola leading up the mountain. Thanks Stephen!
